Okay, I am miffed. The molly tea was finally available, but as I was trying to buy it there wasn't enough money of my credit card which was easy to fix. Then, when I tried to get it, the site won't let me.....Nooooooo, so close! *SOB* I'll get you Molly Hooper, if it's the last thing I'll do! (Points for anyone who recognizes that quote Xp)

Anyways, visited my mom today. She can walk now! 8D Also, her feet aren't in an odd position, but normal and her ankles aren't swollen. Hurray!

Okay, it time for bubble tea review, but here's a little history about me, bubble tea and Quickly's.

Now, I'm not sure when bubble became big. My first ever time tasting bubble tea was sometime in 2003. It was at a little manga/tea place that no longer exists. Now, I tried it there for the first time and was hooked. (I also met my BFF Sam there) Anyways, after it closed down, I discovered quickly purely by accident and was hooked. Then, about a few (maybe 2 or more years ago) I stopped going there due to taste reasons and that flavor being unbearable sweet. Now, since I love bubble tea and I promised myself I'd review all the places...It mean review all the Quickly's in main....

Price: ★★Since I haven't been to Quickly in quite a while, I decided to see if they improve. Now, this is a brand new Quickly store that appeared near Sentosa. (A Malaysian restaurant. It's a good place to eat, go there and try some)

Now, I have many reserves on Quickly since once upon a time it was the King of bubble tea. So, I popped in to see the store and looked at the menu. The cashier was very friendly and upbeat which is a definite plus. The place is a little small, but the music and generally liveliness of the staff makes the place pretty welcome. When I asked about a new drink, she told me how it was made. So after a moment, I decided to get the Magical Gaga, a grape based drink with pieces of grape, and a Taro Milk tea. They drinks were made extremely quickly which a plus

One thing I do like about Quickly's is that the try not to use too much ice in their drink which means like to like watering down. Now, I'm quite for of Taro since it's a smooth drink and not overly sweet, to me at least. Imagine my surprise when I drink and the sweetness overwhelmed me. Usually, the after taste is either smooth or nutty, but instead it left a ungodly sweet after taste which eventually faded into a sour and artificial after taste. It took several gulps of water before the after taste disappeared. Now the Magical Gaga, no relations to singer, is a grape based drink. The drink is not all that sweet but the grape taste is clearly artificial. Though, it left no after taste, but the flavor of the drink itself was a disappointing. The good part of the drink were the grapes pieces. The tapioca in the drink weren't neither too sweet, but the bubbles were a bit too soft and clumped together.

Considering the taste of the drinks themselves, the price can be considered outrageous. Like other bubble tea place, they charge for the tapioca. The normal price is 2.75, but up to 3.00 which I wouldn't mind if the tea drinks were good. There are one or two flavours that are worthy it, but I suggest you'd best avoid Quickly as a place to drink tea. There are many other options such as Ten-Ren, Kung-fu Tea or even inside the various bakeries.

I racked my brain on which videos to post today. Until, I decided to put up the first ever non-Sailor Moon AMV I saw. Oddly enough, I found this video hilarious. Oddly enough after so many years, I only know 4 of the anime they used. (Utena, Slayers, Project A-ko and Visions of Escaflowne) Also, at this point I knew nothing about Slayers, so the Gourry made go 8|a. Anyways, about a few years later, I did end up watching it and fell in love with the series.

I've never tried bubble tea! It's not a thing where I live and I always forget about it when I'm in a city where it's available.

I'd say my paid account is worth it, even if I mostly just have it for the userpic browser and space. It's pretty cheap too, if you want to try out the features to see if it's worth it, I'm more than happy to buy a month for you. :)

It's pretty good. I was skeptical at first myself, until I tried then fell in love with it. The good thing is that there are tons of flavours so you can never really get bored. Well, if you ever get a chance try, you might like it. If not, you can come back and said, how come you made bubble tea sound good, but it sucks?' Xp (No, I won't get mad. Some people just don't end up liking bubble tea)

Really? I mean, I do want to see what's it is like since I used to have a paid account on Lj before I cancelled due to the terribleness off the last release. Also, I'm a sucker for icons XD

I haven't done the paid DW account yet, but I did do the paid LJ account. I know that on LJ, the additional customization features alone were worth it... but DW is already extremely customizable even in its free state. BUT I did read that among the extra customization features, you can install certain fonts to your DW with a paid account. It's a somewhat technical process, but for me, aside from the icons, that is the feature I want along with custom mood themes when I do finally upgrade.

Congrats on your mom's progress! :D That's awesome! Can I ask what happened to her?

Sure. It's not a bid secret anyways. In October, my mom shopping. When she entered the place, she never the noticed the hole in the ground and stepped in it. She fell on her her whole left side, but managed not to hit her head. She went to the hospital for that and ended up with a cast for her arm and leg. Then, a week later, we had to go back b/c they had wrapped the bandage too tight on my mom's arms. She ended up with little scars on her arm.

Anyways, she was getting better, but by the end of December her arm and leg were hurting her too much and we had to take her to the hospital (We waited 14 hours but they never found out what was wrong) . She ended up spending New Year's in the Hospital 8C She was there for a whole month and they never found out WTF was wrong with her. During that time, she lost sensation in her arm and legs.

Eventually, she was moved to a rehabilitation place, where about a two weeks later she had to go back to the hospital due to fever. In this hospital we finally found out that she had Lupus. Now, she's back in the rehab and can move her hands. She can even stand by herself. (She's even beginning to walk again, with the help of a walker, but it's still walking!)

Oh wow... What a drawn-out process; you guys must have been so anxious while they were testing and such. Lupus is a scary disease; it's pretty awesome that she's fighting something like that, and successfully! I'm so glad she's doing better, and that you seem so optimistic! :) I'm sure positiveness helps her along the way!

Oh, we definitely were. Not to mention, most of the doctor's bedside manners were horrible and the nurses...Well, my mm has been in an out of hospitals when I was a kid and I learned that it took a lot more energy in being sad than being happy. Also, my mom figured out that being unhappy in a hospital makes you prolong your stay.

We learned to be up beat after that. Besides, someone has to force people not to start crying over ever little thing. My mom falls to easily into being sad and my grandpa follows that train of thought.

I had my account first bought for me as a random free gift. I never paid for or even wanted to pay for LJ when I had it for almost 10 years. But I went ahead and rebought myself paid time for the icons and the "network" feature, because it gives me more to read.

The main reason I had paid time for LJ was for icons~ I'll admit I did it since there were a ton of icons I used to fit my moods. It's one thing I still like about LJ the ala carte icons. Though, I no longer pay for stuff over there, but still have an account there. (Yay for DW crossposting) Most of the comms I follow are still active there, so I follow both DW and LJ. (I sorta wish DW had the icon ala carte thing >.>)
